About Us

Webster Comfort Care Home's management team is a group of citizens who believe in the dignity and value of every person, and who care about our community. United in our desire to provide hospice-based care, our role is a privileged one. We believe in individualized care to accommodate the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the Home's residents.

We also wish to embrace each resident's family and friends with love and support that continues throughout the grieving process. Partnering with local hospice agencies, we provide complete and comprehensive around-the-clock care.

Our Staff

Julianne Groff, MSW — Executive Director

Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, Julianne moved to Webster in 2002 for her husband's job. Locally, she worked as a Social Worker at The Villa of Hope before moving to Puyallup, WA in 2006. The family returned to Webster in 2008. After staying home with her 3 kids, working in the school system, and being active in the PTSA, Julianne returned to work at the University of Rochester, then became a Health Home Case Manager for Visiting Nurse Service, and for 5 years prior to coming to WCCH, she was a Hospice Social Worker for UR Medicine Homecare. She received her undergraduate degree in Personnel Management from Arizona State University and her Master's in Social Work from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Julianne served on the WCCH Board prior to accepting the position of Executive Director in December 2021.

Julianne lives in Webster with her husband, Tom, and children, Abby, Jake and Bodey, and their 2 dogs. Julianne enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and scrapbooking.

Ruth Rappaport-Kristal — Volunteer Coordinator

Ruth has worked as a Volunteer Coordinator for over 25 years, and is thrilled to be part of the Webster Comfort Care Home team. Ruth grew up in Rochester and currently lives in Brighton with her husband, Peter. She has 3 grown sons, 2 stepchildren and 2 grandsons. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Ruth is an obsessive gardener and also enjoys baking, cooking, biking, walking, eating and reading - not necessarily in that order!

Ruth feels the key to running a successful volunteer program is to truly utilize the volunteer staff, and here at Webster Comfort Care Home, we are truly dependent on our volunteers. Won't you consider joining our team?

Angela Brown - Primary Nurse

Angela began her nursing career in women’s health, but when she started volunteering at WCCH over 10 years ago, she knew she had found her calling! This served as the catalyst that would lead to future nursing opportunities in hospice care, both in other area comfort care homes and private duty. Angela regards returning to WCCH in the role of Nurse Coordinator, as a “full circle moment” and truly considers it an honor and privilege to care for those at journey’s end.

Angela was born and raised in Rochester and currently resides in Ontario. She is a certified yoga instructor and can be found sharing her love of yoga and meditation in her spare time!
